personal mythologies – shian law
May 1, 2014
My talented friend Shian Law has a new performance opening tonight as part of the 2014 Next Wave Festival (co-presented with Arts House). I collaborated with Shian to shoot a moody group portrait image for the production. Talented graphic designer Jamien Liston worked with us to create a 3D lenticular poster which moves as the viewer walks past, including a disappearing-reappearing Shian Law! Not just a pretty picture, the 3D effect is in keeping with the concept of the show. It was fantastic collaborating with these guys.
A few words about the show:
Personal Mythologies is a large scale performative dance installation. This ever-evolving environment invites the individual to inscribe their own personal manifesto onto the shape and form of the work. Perceptions of time and space shift amid the shared kinaesthetic experience as together, we chart the territory between authorship and spectatorship.
Dates: 1st – 4th, 7th – 11th May 2014. 7.30pm, Matinee 3rd May 1pm
Location: Arts House – North Melbourne Townhall, 521 Queensberry Street North Melbourne
