The other day I photographed a project in Geelong for Jo Normayle of architectural firm Pickles & Rouse. Bond Street is an addition/ alteration to an existing double fronted Victorian terrace. Jo renovated the existing terrace and opened up the house with a double storey extension at the rear of the house.

The extension has added large open living spaces that really connect with the surrounding environment. The large glass panelled windows and glass sliding doors allow an abundance of natural light and fresh air. I was amazed to discover that this project was designed and built whilst Jo was completing her thesis at university! I’m looking forward to seeing what is coming next from Pickles & Rouse .

A little background to the project by Jo Normayle:

“The design intent was to create an extension that gave flexibility to the communal spaces so that the clients could alter the size depending on when extended family would visit. Natural lighting was also maximised to visually alter the spaces and reduce energy consumption where possible”.
